Γιατί είναι πιο ακριβά τα βιολογικά προϊόντα;
Η αγορά των βιολογικών προϊόντων είναι μια αναπτυσσόμενη και δυναμική αγορά. Τα προϊόντα είναι ανταγωνιστικά και πωλούνται συχνά σε υψηλότερες τιμές από τα συμβατικά. Αυτό μπορεί να οφείλεται:

- στην επιβάρυνση του κόστους ελέγχου και πιστοποίησης των προϊόντων
Ωστόσο, αν λάβουμε υπόψη:
- ότι τα συμβατικά προϊόντα περιέχουν περισσότερο νερό στο σύνολό τους σε σχέση με τα βιολογικά,
- το κόστος αποκατάστασης (που πληρώνουμε μέσω της φορολογίας) του φυσικού περιβάλλοντος από την αλόγιστη χρήση των αγροχημικών της συμβατικής γεωργίας,
- το κόστος καταπολέμησης προβλημάτων υγείας που προέρχονται από την παραπάνω χρήση,
τότε, η διαφορά κόστους, όχι μόνο μηδενίζεται αλλά και υπερκαλύπτεται.
